This trail of frozen river has been
used by the people from Zanskar since centuries to
go
out of the region when passes are closed by the snow,
The main reason are to trade with the outside world
, taking their children to school at Leh and to visit
the sacred places in part of Ladakh during the winter.
Sense of humor, mental flexibility and well preparation
is required to join this expedition. Trail goes along
the frozen and semi frozen river surface, At the time
up and down over the ice and rock, Follow the porters
while walking who are doing impossible work carrying
all the gears, Exploring this remote part of the world
during winter is life time memory.

Day 1 : Arr- Delhi, Transfer to Hotel
Day 2 : fly to Leh :3600 mtrs. Transfer to
domestic airpot, flight to Leh with great
views of Himalaya. On arrival in Leh transfer to cozy
hotel. Town in summer is very busy with activities
as tourist , agriculture etc. and during the winter
free from all these task , more over celebrating the
festivals and having fun . night in hotel.
Day 3 : Acclimatization day. its
very important to
get used of this climate as summer is too hot at the
same time winter is too cold , night in hotel
Day 4 : Leh to Chilling and trek to cave.
Three hours drive toward west of leh to chilling ,
At Chilling where the adventure starts . Porters prepare
the baggage's , 2 to 3 hours walk to our first camp.
While walking on the ice follow the guide and porters
,As it is first day you will be taking some time to
getting use to walk on ice . To keep the warmth in
body , one have to stay loose that’s how the
circulation keep going . first night to sleep in cave
will be a unique experience.
Day 5 : Trek to Gyalpo camp (3170 m) 7h
Before going to the breakfast your all gear should
be packet , After breakfast move a head and follow
the guide always . People always try to climb on the
rock to avoid getting wet, as some time having no
choice so one should have carry plenty of socks to
change.
Day 6 : Trek to Cave (3225 m)
Today uphill and curved slope of ice. passing the
frozen water fall. night in cave where porters cook
the food and sleep.
Day 7 : Trek to Neraks camp (3390 m)
Again spectacular day. Today weenre in Zanskar, so
the porters use to resound, welcome to Zanskar, one
can see some wild life but peoples are always curious
to see the at least foot
print of elusive snow leopard, campsite out of village.
Day 8 : Nieraq to Dib Gongma (3400 m)
Leave early in the morning cause a part is very interesting,
some part is challenging due to steepness of the slope.
Day 9 : Dib Gongma to Hanumil (3500 m) 8h
Another long amazing day on the ice, Today we go out
of the gorge , tonight we will stay with villagers
and will sleep in room,
Day 10 : Hanumil to Pishu 6h
Today we walk on snow (If there is) otherwise on dry
path, Normally walking hours depends on the snow that
how deep it is. Night in family house.
Day 11 to 15 back to Leh by same way.
on arrival in Leh hotel. Day
16, Leh : we keep one day free in case of
bad weather that we don't loose the flight Leh to
Delhi .hotel.
Day 17: Flight Leh to Delhi.
Day 18: Free day in Delhi, evening
Flight back to Paris.
Extention to
Karsha :21 days. Day
11/12 : Pishu to Karsha , night in monastery or in
house.
Long walk on the plain (if snow is there will take
more time), A beautiful monastery perched high on
the rock providing the excellent view of the valley.
morning and evening puja will be joined in monastery.
Day 13 to 19: Back to Pishu -Chilling –Leh.
Follow same way to get back , Chadar changes its color
and conditions by minutes, however way back is more
quick due to down hill slope of Chadar
Day 20: we keep one day free in case
of bad weather that we don't loose the flight Leh
to Delhi .hotel
Day 21: Flight Leh to Delhi .hotel.
Day 22: Free day in Delhi ,evening
Flight back to Paris.
