Valley of God (Over Jalori pass)

Kullu valley has big opportunities to explore its remote villages and ancient temples of Hindu deities with its traditional architecture , thick forest ,deep valleys with terraced fields from river bed to top of the  hills , various crops ripe,s here as known for its apple orchards , hanging villages high over the valley and hospitable people bewitch the heart of  the travellers . By extention programme we explore lush green valley of Baspa , Semi-desert region of rest of Kinnaur ,ancients temple,s and monasteries, habitant addopted  both Hindu and Budhist religion.

Day 1 :-Arrival Delhi, reception in air port, transfer to the hotel, O/N in hotel.
Valley of God - Jalori pass

Day 2:- Delhi to Manali (2000 m) (570 km -16 h), by night tourist bus.
Full day sight seen in Delhi, evening transfer to bus station, night in comfortable bus.

Day 3 :- Manali :
Morning reached Manali, check in hotel, Visit old Manali, Hadimba temple, Shiva temple and monastery in town are main attraction , afternoon free in town, Night in hotel.

Day 4 :Manali to Sahi Ropa :- 108 km.
Scenic drive in Valley of Kullu , After 70 kms take diversion to Seraj valley , along the Larji river as well”known for trout fishing , passing through tinny town of Banjar (sub division ) of the region . Now leave the main road and again take diversion through narrow valley of Sainj National Park till Sahi Ropa , camp site beside the Tirthan river.

Day 5 :- Sahi Ropa to Baghi :- 5 h                                                                        trek 1
First day of trek . Gradual climb through forest of pine cider to the Bhihari village with its traditional mountain architecture situated a top of the ridge as well providing extensive view of the valley , temple of the Shringa Rishi ( Saint Shringa ) impressive role in Indian Mythology is in direct vision . a short walk to the temple with its Shikhra style of stricture ,inside the temple impressive carving which is representing mythological history of India although lord Vishnu visit temple and pay homage to the Saint Shringa , camp site close to the temple. night in camp.

Day 6 :- Baghi to Jhibhi    5h30                                                                            trek 2
A Ancient nine story castle was built by queen Chehni , Thus the name Chehni derived from the queen. Marechh may took over from her. Latter British took over this castle ,Raja Maan Singh was the last king .of this castle.

In 1905 AD Due to heavy earth quake in India its top three floor has been collapsed and it was rebuilt immediately . On the top floor main place of the Saint Shringa is remain through his mask ,one can climb up to pay the homage .( Those who have vertigo problem are not advised to climb up .)Leave the Chehni Kothi and continue through the forest is well known for its flora, on the way lunch stop on ideal place , easy walk to the camp site.

Day 7 :- Jhibhi to Shojha –5 h                                                                             trek 3
Easy trail in beginning through villages till Ghyaghi , cross a stream and steady climb

for 3 hours to Shoja village , camp site after short distance out of village. One of the most beautiful site providing breathtaking view as well dominating the valley.

Day 8 :- Shoja to Khanag (2400 m) 6h        trek 4
The trek starts, 6 hours, over Jalori pass (3115 m), via Sarau Sar (holy lake). Leave Shoja early in the morning, as it is a long day. The trail winds through the lovely dense forests teeming with an amazing variety of bird life. Chances of spotting the Himalayan black bear and the elusive Monal Pheasant are quite good! From the pass, easy ascend to the lake dedicated to the local God Descend to the campsite in Khanag.

Day 9 :- Khanag to Tarala (2300 m)  5h                                                          trek 5
A gradual ascend and steep path leads to the Beem village. After level walk offers a magnificent view of the surrounding hills. After a relaxed lunch on the fringe of a forest, the campsite of the Tarala is reached with a beautiful ground of rest house nestling by the wood.

Day 10 :- Tarala to Kullu Sarahan (2150 m) 5h30                                        trek 6
From Tarala, the trail gains height and passes through thick forests. High up in the trees, the Himalayan lagoons (monkeys) particular to this area, can be seen swinging and chattering. After lunch, a short walk to the beautiful campsite. The 5515 m-high Sherkhand mountain is mythological significance, being abode of Lord Shiva, but also affords a beautiful panorama. One of the most beautiful camp site of the trek.

Day 11:- Kullu Sarahan to Arsu (1920 m) 4h30                                            trek 7
Very pleasant walk to the campsite. It is a short day, and however it offers a nice view of the valley.

Day 12 :- Arsu to Rampur (1850 m) 5h                                                          trek 8
Last day of the trek .Rampur can be seen at a far distance, other side of the river. After check in hotel explore ancient capital.

RAMPUR :- Rampur east while Himalayan kingdom of Rampur Busheher. It offers a rare insight into customs, relations, art and architecture of its people. It is one of the biggest commercial town in Himachal Pradesh and it is famous for the Levi Mela (fair ) held in November :traders from Lahoul/Spiti and Kinnaur participate in it. Men and women come in dressed in traditional costumes. Special bazaar is held where they can be seen sitting in groups, selling raw wool, shawls and handicrafts along with walnuts, almonds and other dried fruits. While the days are making in bargains, the evening are spent in song and dance.

Day 13 :- Rampur to Shimla (2050 m) 132km O/N in hotel.

Day 14 :- Visit Shimla. O/N in hotel.

Day 15 :- Shimla to Delhi, by train or by bus. O/N in hotel.

Day 16 :- Free day, and evening transfer to air port, flight to onward destination.

Extension to Kinnaur 21 DAYS

Day 13 :- Rampur to Sarahan (1920 m) 60 km
Short drive to Sarahan , the summer capital of the Rampur Busher through the Satlej gorge.Visit the Bhima Kali temple which is about 1500 years old.One can have the spectacle view of the Shir Khand mountain range from the camp site O/N in camp.

14 :- Sarahan to Sangla (3450 m) 5h drive.
Camp at Rakchham, and after established the camp, visit Chhitkul, the last village of the valley. The inhabitants in the valley are adopting the both religions Hinduism and Buddhism. By evening, back to the camp.

Day 15 :- Sangla to Chitkul, back to Sangla
Visit the last villages of the valley, Chitkul and Rackchham, typical kinnauri architecture.

Day 16 :- Sangla/ Rakchham to recongpeo (2276 m)
At Sangla visit the Kamru fort and the temple, continue to the Recong-peo: it is district headquarter of the Kinnaur. A monastery is constructed on the top of the town; the majesty of the Kinner Kailash mountain is in direct vision: this is regarded as one of the mythical abodes of Lord Shiva. After visiting the monastery continue to the campsite; the first check post is just before the camp, you need to check the inner line permit, because you are entering now in the restricted area of Indo/ Tibet border.

Day 17 :- Recongpeo to Nako (3662 m) 6h
Drive in to Spiti via Khab where the Satlej joins in to the Spiti River. Continue to the Nako, the most charming village offers a magnificent view around. The village is situated at the altitude of around 3800m, beside the lake. To the north of the village is the monastic complex of four large temples belonging to the Drugpa order. The complex is called « locha- lha- thang ». The foot prints of the Padmasambhabha are regarded to be imprinted here on the rock. One can camp here or continue to Chango for next 10 kms.

Day 18 : Back to Sarahan, 112 km. Camp

Day 19 :- Rampur to Simla –190 km. Hotel

Day 20 :- Train to Delhi, hotel

Day 21:- Transfer to Airport, flight to onward
destination
